R&B Star R&B Star an independent and family run electrical wholesaler based in Kent and London are celebrating success their Chairman Bob Robertson received the prestigious ‘Lifetime Contribution Award’ at this year’s Electrical Wholesaler Awards 2017.
This year’s awards evening saw the electrical industry’s crème de la crème come together at the Lancaster Hotel in London on May 18th.
The evening provided a very proud moment for us when our chairman Bob Robertson was awarded the ‘Lifetime Contribution’ award for his commitment and support to the industry over the last 42 years.
Bob joined R&B Star in April of 1975 where he worked in all areas of the business, from driving one of the delivery vans and working in the warehouse before stepping into the purchasing department. With Bobs leadership R&B Star have opened new branches in Greenwich and in Maidstone, whilst continuing to expand by opening new departments such as marketing and compliance and now runs several fund-raising events in Kent. Bob is also well known in the industry through his role in buying groups and the electrical distributors association. Bob was the president for the EWF from 1994-1996 and supported the association with the change over to the EDA and was fundamental part of the new look board of management for the EDA in 1998. Bob is still involved in the EDA to this day and is the longest standing board member.
We would like to thank Bob for all his support and commitment to R&B Star and the industry. We are all excited to for the future.
Andrew Robertson, Managing Director, commented “We are delighted that Bob received the award for ‘Lifetime Contribution’ to the industry. We would like to thank Bob for all his support and commitment to R&B Star and the industry.”
Margaret commented “I was honoured and humbled to be asked to present the award and while doing the background research I saw how much Bob contributed to the industry in a quiet and unassuming manner over so many years. He is a very important sounding board for me today I often speak to Bob to ensure that I will not repeat mistakes made in the past or to find out why certain things are done the way they are. He always has the answer!”
